The original configuration of 1937 presents a harmonious contrast between the monumental, mineral architecture and the painted wooden furniture, which looks very domestic. We experience this tension between gigantism and the “domestic” by proposing the idea of phantom furniture that would echo the spirit of the time while being part of a modernist style.
The general design of the furniture (reception counter, ticket office, shop) is proportioned to be part of the extension of the reliefs
architectural. The furniture is based on the architecture, blending into its minerality and detaching itself from it at the same time, underlined by a plinth
corrugated bent brass. The seats and the lights domesticate the space with a design on a human scale and resolutely modernist.
