Ghost Bless You is a series of five terracotta jars made in Puglia, Italy. Echoing the tradition of terracotta objects placed on Apulian residences to bring fortune and protection (giant pine cone and anthropomorphic chimney cap), these sculptures blow spirits in textiles, genius or divinities, in a sequence that also recalls religious ceremonies and sacred statues worn on the shoulders of the faithful. Between matter and spirit, combining earth, air and representations of changing minerals, this alchemical universe leads the viewer to wonder about the power attributed to symbolic objects. Foreknowledge or belief? An unanswered question, but the certainty that in a contemporary confused world, man returns to esotericism to guard against fears and dangers, when rational discourse or technological solutions are not enough to calm the spirits.
With the participation of Italian artists and artisans Giampiero Indino (Terracotta), Mathieu Lemarié & Franco Casi Melcarne (Painting)
